Gov Pramono Officially Opens POPPROV and PORPROV 2025

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, officially opened the Jakarta Student Sports Week (POPPROV) 2025 and the Jakarta Provincial Sports Week (PORPROV) 2025 at the Soemantri Brodjonegoro Student Hall, South Jakarta, Monday (8/4).

In his speech, Pramono appreciated the collaboration between the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency and Jakarta KONI. He hoped that this collaboration would produce athletes ready to compete at the National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) to be held in Jakarta.

"I have high hopes that this event will run smoothly and produce athletes to compete in POPNAS," he expressed.

He urged 1,504 athletes to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship. He also hoped this competition runs smoothly with high fighting spirit.

"Fight fairly, bravely, uprightly, with extraordinary fighting spirit to win their respective regions and at the same time contribute to Jakarta's overall victory," he stressed.

He also aimed for Jakarta to become the overall champion at the upcoming POPNAS.

"Hopefully, the students present today will help Jakarta become the overall champion at the POPNAS 2025. Is it possible? I believe it is," he asserted.

He then mentioned the achievements of the Jakarta Youth Soccer Team (U-12) that won the Dana Cup U-12 in Denmark. Hopefully, this achievement would serve as motivation so that the PORPROV event produces accomplished student-athletes who will compete in POPNAS.

He also ensured the Jakarta Government's commitment to supporting the organization of POPPROV and PORPROV, thus they run smoothly and successfully, as well as produce athletes who will excel at the national level.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) Head, Andri Yansyah reported, this event is a collaboration program between Jakarta Dispora and Jakarta KONI. There will be 1,504 athletes contributing from five city districts and Seribu Islands.

"It will be held from August 4 to 8, 2025, at sports facilities in Jakarta," he stated.

There are ten sports branches in this competition, namely volleyball, basketball, badminton, soccer, sepak takraw, karate, archery, martial art, taekwondo, and table tennis.

This is held to measure the results of sports development in Jakarta and to serve as a means for athletes to gain more competition experience.

"More importantly, as a forum to monitor potential athletes in preparation for POPNAS 2025," he said.
